Tampa Bay -- Buccaneer territory ringed with malls, shopping centers, antique shops, and specialty stores -- has gone upscale with major chains and some truly one-of-a-kind locations. Artsiphartsi, on Kennedy Boulevard, leads the way with handcrafted works in baby gifts, jewelry and home goods. Award-winning Tampa International Airport’s dozen-plus shops include a Florida Market / Florida Shop and a Ron Jon Surf Shop. Where Westshore and Boy Scout Boulevards intersect near the airport, International Plaza and Bay Street, a two-level, enclosed shopping paradise with adjacent outdoor lifestyle / entertainment center, boasts 200 stores including Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Dillard’s, and a Robb & Stucky Furniture and Design Studio, plus nearly two dozen restaurants and the Renaissance Tampa Hotel International Plaza. Near Busch Gardens, Tightlines Tackle Store handles angler needs, and the Big Top Flea Market has more than 1,000 enclosed and open-air booths, plus monthly car shows.
Ybor City -- once the "Cigar Capital of the World" -- still teems with stogie shops, plus boutiques for handcrafted Spanish tiles, vintage clothing, art, and more. Hyde Park, an old-money residential district, boasts Hyde Park Village with a mix of high-end designer stores, one-of-a-kind boutiques, restaurants, and theaters. Columbia Restaurant, Florida’s oldest eatery, has a gift shop filled with cookbooks, apparel, and baskets. In the Brandon area, Westfield Brandon has more than 175 stores from Abercrombie & Fitch to Zales. Other shopping lures include Tampa’s Britton Plaza and Carrollwood Commons, Largo Mall on Ulmerton Road, Seminole’s Seminole Village, and Pinellas Park’s Pinellas Square Mall. Clearwater shopping includes Northwood Plaza, Countryside Mall, Bay Area Outlet Mall. St. Petersburg shopping includes The Pier, Crossroads Shopping Center, Gateway Mall, and Tyrone Square Mall.
